PO’ UP! Represents the DMV & Black Excellence on Revolt TV

Lizz Rene is one of 12 entrepreneurs featured on Season 2 of Revolt series ‘Bet on Black’
The founder of PO' UP! Card Game is unapologetically representing Prince George’s County, MD for a chance to win $200,000.
The opportunity is taking place on Season 2 of the Revolt TV series,"Bet on Black."
“I never imagined that my college experiences would inspire me to create a card game to celebrate Black college students and alumni around the world,” said PO’ UP! Card Game Founder Lizz Rene.
Rene moved to Capitol Heights, MD in 2014, shortly after graduating from the University of Georgia.
“Black students and alumni add our own flavor to every aspect of college life from the band to Greek life and even homecoming,” said Rene.
“PO’ UP! Card Game captures hilarious memories and nostalgic moments shared by Black students and alumni across HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges) and PWIs (Predominantly White Institutions) so we can celebrate our Black Excellence together.”

Her commitment to putting the culture forward in the card game industry has paid off. She is now the first and only card game creator featured on the Revolt series, “Bet on Black,” in two seasons.
“I’ve seen many TV pitch competitions but I rarely see Black game makers even though the card game industry is expected to have a market value of $21 Billion by 2025,” Rene said. I’m excited to show that Black game makers deserve a seat at the table on Season 2 of Bet on Black.”
Each episode of Bet on Black will feature innovative business ideas presented by Black business owners in the hopes of securing a grand prize of $200,000 in funding.
“I am so grateful to Revolt and Target for unapologetically amplifying and highlighting Black businesses such as PO’ UP! in such a meaningful way,” said Rene.
While PO’ UP! Card Game is available in retailers nationwide, the company is based right outside of Washington, DC in Capitol Heights, MD and is excited to continue the legacy of Black Excellence coming out of the Chocolate City.
“I’ve been living and working in the DMV for nearly 10 years and have been positively influenced by the representation of Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs in my community, “Rene said. “I’m excited to join these Black change makers in making an impact within our communities.”
Bet on Black will premiere on REVOLT's linear channel on Monday, October 24th at 9:30pm ET and extend to all platforms on Tuesday, October 25th at 5pm ET with new episodes airing every Monday.
